フィンランドの民族模様をデザインしたiPhoneケース、Finlandiaシリーズのeggshellが登場

わたしの友人であるデザイナーJuho Viitasalo氏に「フィンランドを題材にしたケースが作りたい」とお願いしたのは去年のこと。その後色々なパターンの中から選択、パターンが6個。実に美しいケースができた。私も長年ケースのデザインをしているが、「柄物は売れない、危ない」と避けてきたのも事実。今回は「絶対に気に入ってもらえる」作品がJuvoさんと弊社武藤と一緒に作れて嬉しい。また模様とカラー全てに意味がある。。待ち受け画面も提供する。ここまでコーディネートされたケース、少ないのでは。柄が「ハデ」に見えるが、実はかなり落ち着いたルックになるのが不思議。写真では製品の本当の美しさが伝わらないのがちょっと残念。

【Taimi　タイミ】

Taimiはフィンランド語で満ち足りた生命の力を感じさせる「若木」を意味します。ケースに施された波のような模様はフィンランドの冬の夜空に輝くオーロラをイメージしています。
【Aika　アイカ】
Aikaはフィンランド語で「時間」を意味します。季節が移り変わり過ぎゆく時間――白は時の流れが止まってしまったかのような白夜、緑は夏の生命感あふれる自然をイメージしています。

【Sade　サデ】Sadeはフィンランド語で「雨」を意味します。フィンランドの夏の雨は優しくて暖かく、そして秋の雨は葉の色と美しく溶けあいます。模様はフィンランドの工芸品に使われる伝統的なデザインです。

【Nuppu　ヌップ】Nuppuはフィンランド語で「つぼみ」を意味します。冬が終わり、春が運んでくる新しい生活をイメージしています。模様はフィンランドの伝統的なテキスタイルルのデザインです。


【Kukka　クッカ】
Kukkaはフィンランド語で「花」。暖かみのある模様は、花畑と、冬の終わりとともに訪れる太陽の輝きをイメージしています。花は多くのフィンランドのアーティスト達にインスピレーションを与えてきました。
【Isa　イサ】
Isaはフィンランド語で「父親」を意味します。冬の夜に降る美しい雪のかけらをイメージしています。フィンランドの人々は暖炉のそばで家族と共に寒い冬の夜を過ごします。芸術品をケースにしたかった。私の願いはかなったと思う。
