さて3日目のMacWorld。もう既に多くのメディアや日本からの参加者はいない会場。今日はiPadのスペシャルイベントも開かれたのでそれを弊社Chrisが参加。

Mac­world Day 3

Today was the iPad Spe­cial Event which gave atten­dees a chance to lis­ten to a panel of indus­try insid­ers and get their analy­sis and com­men­tary on the new Apple iPad. All pan­elists had a chance to play with iPod when it was first launched.

化石になる運命のiPod

As expected, there was no real iPad in the room but one iPad was given away as a prize to be given away when Apple starts ship­ping this spring. Here are some notes from the talk.

First impres­sions:

• - It feels nat­ural to hold in your hands and is easy to use.
• - High qual­ity build. Feels like a pre­mium product.
• - Once you start inter­act­ing directly with the mail client and web browser, after awhile iPad dis­ap­pears in your hands.

ファーストインプレッション

iPad討論会が開かれた。全員iPadを絶賛。

• 違和感なく手に持てる。
• 作りが高級。
• メールやネット作業を始めるとiPadは手から消える「なじむという意味で、そこにハードがあることを忘れてしまう」

2011年も開催されることを促すMacWorld 2011バナー

Ergonom­ics:

• - Fits you like a mag­a­zine or book.
• - Pan­elists only tested iPad while stand­ing. They won­der how long users can stand and hold iPad comfortably.
• - Prob­a­bly best used when sit­ting in a soft chair so iPad can be posi­tioned on your lap. (same as the Steve Jobs keynote presentation)

人間工学

• 本や雑誌のように手に「はまる」
• 立って使っても快適
• ソファーや多少リクライニングした椅子でも使い易い。いわゆる雑誌を読むのと同じ体制。

iPad Spe­cial Eventのパネリスト

Pro­duc­tiv­ity:

• - With the inclu­sion of iWork, Apple is help­ing to rede­fine what a com­puter is.
• - The key­board dock option will allow peo­ple to use it as a computer.
• - Could be the next Mac­in­tosh in 3 or 4 years.
• - Hope the next soft­ware ver­sion will have mul­ti­task­ing and print­ing capabilities.

プロダクティビティー生産性

• iWorkを入れることでAppleは「コンピュータとは何か」を再提案している
• キーボードドックでパソコンとして十分使える
• これは3 – 4年後のMacintoshだ
• 時期OSにマルチタスクと印刷機能を希望する

私が思うにプリントは紙の使用を増やすので、Appleはこの辺をPapperless文化当たり前にしたいのだと思う。

大勢の参加者がiPad座談会に参加

iBooks:

• - Great plat­form for comic books due to the full color.
• - Opens a new mar­ket for col­lege text book publishers.
• - Would be nice to share books with oth­ers. Could do this by assign­ing a num­ber of licenses which expire.
• - No iMagazine fea­ture was announced. Apple could really change the game on periodicals.

iBooks

• フルカラーの漫画等に最適、春に沢山出るらしい
• 学生の全本ベースの教材＋アルファーに最適
• 複数のiPadと本を「シェア」できると良い
• iMagazineの発表が無かったが、これが行われば完全に出版業界のゲームチェンジャーになるだろう。

クレジットカードリーダーのSquare

iPad Impact in 5 years:

• - iPad will start get­ting big in 2011 after peo­ple see the early adopters around them using iPad.
• - Skep­ti­cal that iPad will take the place of the com­puter. Peo­ple will buy iPad in addi­tion to their com­puter. iPad may replace notebooks.
• - Fore­see iPad being used as a remote con­trol for home and TV.
• - Any­thing could hap­pen due to third party devel­op­ers and the younger gen­er­a­tion who is get­ting used to using their fin­gers to tap and pinch instead of using a com­puter attached to a mouse.
• - A Kin­dle app for iPad would be good.

iPad 5年後のインパクト

• 2011年にはiPadはメジャーになるだろう。2010年はアーリアダプター（初期のガジェットや技術を疑いなく買う人達）が広めるだろう。Appleが膨大なアーリアダプターそうを持つ
• 自宅の総合リモコンにiPadはなるだろう
• ピンチやタップで育っている新世代のプログラマーが今後作るソフトは完全に新しいインタフェースと可能性をiPadに与えるだろう。
• iPadようKindle Appが欲しい

まとめ：iPadは下手するとiPhoneより普及する可能性がある。なぜなら全話、NetPC、本、雑誌、リモコンが全部コレ一台でできるから。凄い世界がやってくるね。。。
